Trusted Deck Builder Serving DeWitt Homeowners

There is a stretch of about five months in mid-Michigan when the back of the house matters more than the front. Somewhere around late April people start eating dinner outside again. By June the grill has moved permanently off the garage floor. If your deck is not ready for that stretch, you notice it every evening. We hear from DeWitt homeowners most often in March, right when the snow pulls back and the boards look worse than anyone remembered. Armored has served Clinton County since 2020 as a family owned business. Building decks is a good share of what our crews do once the roofing season settles down. Some projects stay simple. A platform off the slider, room for a table and four chairs, done inside a week. Others get ambitious, with wrapped posts, built in bench seating, lighting under the rail caps, and a lower level for the fire pit. Both start the same way. Somebody stands in the yard with a tape measure and asks how you actually plan to use the space. Free estimates, warranty options on what we build, and financing when the design outruns the budget.

DeWitt Deck Replacement

The question we get asked most is whether an old structure can be saved. Sometimes it can. Framing that was built right the first time, with proper footings and hardware that has not rusted through, will often carry a brand new surface without complaint. That turns a full rebuild into something closer to a resurfacing. It is the cheapest good outcome available. Other times the answer is no, and we would rather say that in the driveway than halfway through a demo. Posts set above the frost line heave. Ledger boards attached without flashing rot the rim joist behind them, and you cannot see that until the siding comes off. Those are the decks where a DeWitt deck replacement is the honest recommendation. Either way we inspect the substructure before quoting. The reasoning goes in writing so you are not taking our word for it. When the framing does need to come out, the new deck installation goes in on footings poured below the frost line. TimberTrex composite is what most homeowners land on once they hear the maintenance difference. Wood costs less on day one. Composite costs less across fifteen springs, and nobody spends a Saturday sanding it.

Spring fills up faster than any other season on our calendar. The homeowners who call in February tend to be the ones grilling in May. We schedule free estimates throughout DeWitt and the nearby Clinton County townships, generally within a week. Evening visits are available when the workday gets in the way. Our estimator brings composite samples, measures the space, and talks through the layout with you rather than at you. You will get a written number the same visit, with no obligation on it. Homeowners lining up other DeWitt exterior remodeling projects can have roofing, siding, or windows priced during the same appointment. That saves a second trip for everybody. Warranty options cover the material and our workmanship. Financing is available, and any seasonal promotional discount running that month gets applied.
