Deck Builder Serving Okemos Homeowners

Want more usable space without adding a room? A deck is the cheapest square footage you will ever add. We design around how you actually live, whether that means grilling, hosting, or sitting with coffee. Grills, chairs, and a table take more room than people plan for. We measure for that. Pressure treated wood keeps the budget down and looks great once stained. TimberTrex composite costs more but skips the yearly sealing entirely. Railings, stairs, and lighting all get worked out before we order material. Armored is family owned and has built decks across Meridian Township since 2020. Permits and inspections are handled on our end. Free estimates come with a layout sketch so you can picture it. Most builds take under a week. Composite holds its color for decades. Wood can be stained any shade you like. Both look sharp with the right railing.

Okemos Deck Replacement

Is your old deck worth saving? Deck replacement for Okemos homeowners usually starts with a look at the framing, not the boards. Joists and posts that have gone soft cannot be fixed by resurfacing. New boards over failing structure just hide the problem for a season. Check these before you decide:

• Posts that wobble at the base
• Spongy spots underfoot near the house
• Rusted or missing joist hangers
• Railings that move when you lean

We will tell you honestly whether a rebuild or a refresh makes more sense. Sometimes only the surface boards need swapping. That costs far less than a full rebuild. Deck installation on a fresh footprint gives you more freedom with the layout. Framing gets inspected before any new boards go down. Rot spreads fast once it starts.

Thinking about next summer already? That is the right time to start, since spring books up fast. Call us or fill out the form and we will set up a free design visit. Our estimator measures the yard, checks the grade, and talks through materials with you. The written quote covers framing, decking, railings, permits, and warranty terms. Okemos exterior remodeling projects often bundle a deck with siding or gutter work. Bring your questions to that visit. Common ones include:

• How long the build will take
• Wood or composite for my budget
• Whether a permit is required
• Adding stairs or lighting later

Financing keeps the payment reasonable on larger builds. Ask about promotions before you schedule. Design visits take about an hour. Bring photos of decks you like.
